Journey of Ibex Watches: From a teen entrepreneur to a quality brand
Linus Mjøsund, a 16-year-old Finnish entrepreneur, became interested in watches after receiving a Tissot watch as a gift. His curiosity led him to research the cost of manufacturing versus the selling price of watches, and he found that most businesses list their watches for sale at multiple times the price of creating them. This sparked an idea in Mjøsund’s mind to create a watch brand that could offer a better price-to-quality ratio.
With his newfound passion for watches, Mjøsund delved deeper into the industry, researching tax and financial aspects, design elements, manufacturers, and website building to achieve his goal. Despite being a ninth-grade student at the time, he invested over 30 hours a week outside of school to develop his brand, Ibex Watches.
Mjøsund faced various challenges along the way, but he believed in himself through both ups and downs. He invested most of his savings when founding Ibex Watches, but his hard work and dedication paid off. Today, Ibex Watches is a thriving watch brand that combines Swiss engineering with Scandinavian design, offering high-quality timepieces at an affordable price.

Linus Mjøsund
At just 16 years old, Finnish entrepreneur Linus Mjøsund founded his own watch company, Ibex Watches. His passion for watches was sparked by receiving a Tissot watch as a gift, which led him to investigate the cost of manufacturing versus the selling price of watches. Through his research, Mjøsund discovered that most watch businesses sell their watches for multiple times the cost of production, and so he set out to create a brand that offered a better price-to-quality ratio. To achieve this, Mjøsund delved into researching tax and financial aspects, design elements, manufacturers, and website building. Despite being in ninth grade, he dedicated over 30 hours a week to building his brand outside of school. Mjøsund invested most of his savings in founding Ibex Watches, but he has remained confident in his vision through the years.
